Experience

March 2010 - Current

Match.com SN LLC

As Director of Software Development, I oversee and direct a team of developers who focus on the Singlesnet.com website and supporting services. This is a transition from CTO at The Hive after the purchase of Singlesnet.com by Match.com in March 2010.

January 2009 - March 2010

The Hive

As CTO, my role was to manage all of the operations and development for Singlesnet.com and The Hive. In this role, I had hands on all of the physical infrastructure of Singlesnet.com and maintained a large Debian linux deployment, Isilon cluster, F5 Networks BigIP, and many other supporting infrastructures. I was involved in the sale of Singlesnet.com to Match.com.

February 2002 - January 2009

Independent

I started my independent career working with Jabber (XMPP). I started the Rival Messenger project in late '99. I made many revisions to Rival Messenger over the next 3-4 years. I broadened my development abilities during this period; I expanded from VB6 development to PHP, I honed my linux administration expertise, I transitioned to Mac OS and I started Objective-C development on the side. Most of my focus throughout this period was PHP development and Linux systems administration. During this time, I built, deployed, and managed 300+ Debian servers. We then migrated this entire running infrastructure to another data center with zero visible downtime.

August 2001 - February 2002

Universal Software Ltd

I was hired to work on a supply chain management suite written in VB6. I was quickly promoted to project manager, and introduced the company to the world of Object Oriented design.
